The Gallerie dell’Accademia, in Dorsoduro, is the picture gallery of Venetian painting. Peggy Guggenheim’s collection lives in Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, the palace left unfinished on the Grand Canal. Teatro La Fenice, burned in January 1996 and reopened in 2003, can be visited in the windows between rehearsals.
